Collaboration For Distributed
Knowledge Professionals
|
Mobile professionals make up a growing proportion of the workforce in North America and other industrialized nations. An increasing number of businesses have distributed operations with high-value experts located in few central locations. It is vital for organizations to provide their workforce with the proper tools and platforms to communicate and collaborate effectively from where they are and, at the time they best can.
In October 2009, Trusterra assembled a multi-disciplinary team and set out to develop a novel mobile, visual collaboration system dubbed Scoop™. We are excited to have recently released the first version of the product developed for the Web and RIM Blackberry platforms.
Whereas online conferencing, project management and remote PC tools available today are primarily focused on the needs of desktop users within the confines of meeting rooms and offices, Scoop aims to address the collaboration needs of millions of “real world” knowledge workers who spend most of their work time outside these locations. Scoop leverages web, mobile and rich media technologies to connect engineering teams, manufacturing suppliers, repair technicians and sales engineers present in the field, with remote experts, colleagues and partners inside and outside their organization. Decisions can be taken faster based upon readily available detailed visual information and expert input; project delivery can be optimized; service, repair and overhaul operations can be managed more effectively in a fraction of the traditional time and cost.
